On behalf of the Virtual Festival Committee, it is a pleasure to thank and welcome all competitors, parents, teachers and supporters to our 1st ever Virtual Festival, which will go live at 9am on Saturday 6th March 2021 under Performances.
It was great to see that the number of entries for our Virtual Festival competitions came in at 241 (146 last year). A fantastic effort from everyone which is greatly appreciated.
We will no longer be posting the results at 4.00pm on Saturday 6th March.
Instead. the results of selected winners will be announced and aired on BBC Radio Scotland's Show "Take the Floor" on Saturday evening, 6th March from 7:05pm with full results published at 9.00pm on this webpage.

A big thank you to our adjudication panel for their hard work and professionalism: Judi Nicolson and Claire Telford, Fiddle judges and James Coutts, Graham Laurie, Ian Muir, Wayne Robertson, Accordion judges. They have all enjoyed this new experience. Why not have a listen to the short video they have provided with feedback on their adjudication.
We have introduced a donation button on this webpage which is a discretionary opportunity to donate to the festival.
Next year’s Festival will be as usual on the first Saturday in March so please make a note in your diaries for 5th March 2022 hopefully returning to Grangemouth Town Hall. Further details will be posted on this webpage/facebook sites.
We are very proud that our competitors’ ages ranged from 7 years to over 80 years. We believe that we now have a competition that would be suitable for many more of our players that attend an Accordion and Fiddle club and beyond. Why not give it a try next year? Look out for our competition schedule that will be issued in the summer via the NAAFC webpages.
I would like to thank our Virtual Festival committee for an unbelievable effort in putting this all together. Margaret Knight, Iain Cathcart, Scott Band – thank you, what a Team.
Further thanks are due to Stuart Cameron and Marie Martin for providing additional support
I hope you enjoy our first, Virtual Festival.
Richard S Ross, Festival Chairman
